About Me

I am a Melbourne-based writer and historian. I was born in Brisbane in 1986, and completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Government at Griffith University in 2008. After spending two years in Canada, I moved to Melbourne in 2011 and have worked since then as a governance, risk and compliance professional.

My books deal with Australian political, legal and military history. In particular, I have written on the history of Australia’s political institutions, the effect of the First World War on global politics and Australian society, international law and war crimes, and Australian historiography. I have written articles more broadly about the history of ideas, online communities, and democracy in the twenty-first century. I have contributed articles to the Law Institute Journal of the Law Institute of Victoria, the ABC online, and Australian Book Review. I am a volunteer in the Victorian State Emergency Service (SES).
